Welcome message from the Chairman of DFSC

As the community continues to develop, the public’s expectations for a safe living environment are also steadily increasing. I am deeply honored to have been appointed by the HKSAR Government as the Chairman of the Tuen Mun District Fire Safety Committee, and to take on the responsibility of promoting fire prevention work in the district and contributing to the protection of our community.
I have long been actively involved in district affairs and maintained close connections with various sectors. I fully understand that community safety relies on the participation of all, and fire prevention is an indispensable part of this effort. Compared with responding after incidents occur, enhancing public awareness of fire prevention and reducing the likelihood of fires is the fundamental way to build a safe community.
The Fire Safety Committee has been committed to promoting related work through diversified approaches, including organizing outreach activities within the community, collaborating with schools to implement educational programs, and using various interactive experiences to deepen public understanding of fire risks. At the same time, the Fire Services Department actively provides professional support by enhancing the public’s ability to respond to emergencies through training and drills.
The Fire Services Department has always been a vital force in safeguarding the lives and property of the public. In addition to responding swiftly to fires and emergencies, it continues to promote fire safety inspections and public education, playing a key role in the community safety system. The Fire Safety Committee and the Fire Services Department share the same direction—prevention as the foundation and education as the priority—complementing each other’s work.
Looking ahead, I hope to continue working closely with members of the Fire Safety Committee and the Fire Services Department to further strengthen district-level fire prevention publicity and public education, encourage more citizens to participate proactively, and jointly build a safer and more resilient community, so that Tuen Mun remains a place where people can live and work in peace and prosperity.
