Joining Hands Across Tsuen Wan! Encourage Equipping "Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Kit" to Ensure Safety
  • Date: 2026年6月13日
  • Venue: Tsuen Wan

The Fire Services Department (FSD) recently collaborated with Tsuen Wan District Council members, Care Teams, the Fire Safety Committee, and Rural Committees to launch a series of fire safety education activities across the district. Through the joint efforts of all parties, we are committed to promoting fire safety and emergency preparedness, encouraging members of the public to equip their homes with "Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Kit" to safeguard their households and ensure family safety.

With the tremendous support of various housing estate management companies and Owners' Corporations, the campaign successfully reached over a thousand residents. Care Teams also distributed portable fire extinguishers to residents. These extinguishers are highly effective for tackling minor, initial-stage household fires, significantly enhancing home fire safety and minimizing potential fire damage.

Furthermore, the FSD specially organized tailored fire safety talks for the local ethnic minority community, distributed "Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Kit" and provided hands-on demonstrations on how to use fire extinguishers to heighten their fire safety awareness and enhance their ability to respond to emergencies.

In addition to community education, the FSD hosted specialized fire safety seminars for Tsuen Wan District Council members, councillors' assistants, Care Teams, and volunteers. These sessions aimed to deepen their fire safety knowledge so they can work together to promote fire safety messages within the community. The seminars covered common building fire hazards, general causes of fires, fire safety improvement works for old buildings, knowledge of fire service installations and equipment, as well as crucial escape techniques in dense smoke.

Prevention is always better than cure! Members of the public should equip their homes with a "Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Kit" early, and jointly boost emergency preparedness to ensure the safety of themselves and their families.
