The Sai Kung District Fire Safety Committee, Sai Kung Home Affair Department, and the Fire Services Department Community Emergency Responders Honorary Presidents' Association (Sai Kung District) jointly organized "Sai Kung District Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Education Day" event on July 30, 2025. The team visited various villages in Sai Kungs, including Ma Yau Tong Village, Sheung Sze Wan Village, Po Toi O Village, Nam Wai Village, Ho Chung Village and Tso Wo Hang Village. Fire Service personnel introduced and demonstrated rescue equipment and operational techniques for handling flooding and tree collapse incidents, as well as measures and responses for dealing with accidents during severe weather. Teams also visited rural households to distribute the "Three Treasures for Fire Protection" (including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and standalone smoke detectors), enhancing home fire safety awareness among residents.
At the end of the event, the team distributed disaster preparedness leaflets at Sai Kung Waterfront Park, promoting safety strategies and emergency preparedness for severe weather conditions. These efforts significantly raised public awareness and resilience in disaster response.
The activity proved highly effective in strengthening community disaster preparedness, laying a sustainable foundation for building a safer and more resilient community.
