The Fire Services Department, in collaboration with the Sai Kung District Fire Safety Committee, the Police Force, and the Marine Department, organised the "Sai Kung District Inter-departmental Extreme Weather Incident Exercise and Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Publicity Day" on 20 May 2026. The event aimed to enhance residents' awareness of home fire safety, while also strengthening public vigilance regarding extreme weather conditions and fire hazards on vessels.

During the event, the Fire Services Department, together with the Police Force and the Marine Department, conducted a joint inter-departmental extreme weather incident exercise at Sai Kung Pier. The drill was designed to reinforce inter-departmental communication and coordination, and to improve preparedness for extreme weather incidents. Subsequently, the Fire Services Department, in conjunction with the Sai Kung District Fire Safety Committee, distributed "Emergency Preparedness Kits" and fire safety leaflets in the vicinity of Sai Kung Pier and Siu Yat Building. On-site demonstrations and explanations on the operation of fire hose reels were provided, and fire safety promotional stickers such as "Break, Turn, Pull, Spray" and "Keep Smoke Doors Closed" were displayed to further disseminate fire prevention knowledge.

Through this inter-departmental joint exercise and community outreach efforts, communication and collaboration among various departments were effectively enhanced, while public awareness of extreme weather preparedness and home fire safety was also significantly raised.
